The purpose of the amendment is to change the church's fiscal and business year to a year ending on 30 June. This amendment is in concert with a similar amendment proposed for the church bylaws.
The following excerpt from the constitution shows Article VIII, Section 1,
in three versions:
the old version; a version with
the proposed deletions in
strikeout type and the proposed changes in bold italic type;
and the new version.
Section 1. (old version) Congregational business meetings shall be held quarterly each calendar year. The first quarterly business meeting will serve as the Annual Business Meeting and shall be held as near the first of the year as feasible. At the Annual Meeting, written progress reports shall be submitted by the pastor and by each administrative task force of the church. Audited financial reports shall be submitted by the treasurer for the church and each of its organizations. Election to positions on the Board of Elders for the ensuing year shall be conducted by secret ballot. The church budget shall also be submitted.
